Terrazzo like material made of mussel and oystershells from the waste stream of fish restaurants. The material is ephemeral if used outside and decomposes into sand through erosion. The material comes from the sea and returns to the sea, leaves no trace. The furniture is Marieke De Backer's final project for the furniture design course (VOMO) at the Thomas More Hogeschool in Mechelen, Belgium.
