PAN-PROJECTS and REMARE

In collaboration with Japanese fishermen communities, “mum” creates a dining table made of industrial marine plastic. The irregular wave-like texture, inevitably created by the imperfect nature, narrates the material's unique memory of the sea. Akin to appreciate the grain of timbers or patterns on stones, the project highlights its unique natural texture implying marine plastic as a material of the new nature.
